The emotional process that goes into each piece I create
With each piece of artwork I create there are several emotions
present. I look at
the face or figure first to determine if there is a story to be told.
Inevitably, there always is. I am drawn to that person in an instinctual
way.
Since I don’t know them personally, my process starts to expose their
hidden dimensions.
The soul behind the beauty. Each layer of texture adds depth to that
person. Whether it
is an acrylic painting, ink painting, or nature photography, all art of
which I create
separately. I have seen so many emotions surface that were not there
in the original photo.
Sometimes fear is exposed or joy, ecstasy or sorrow. We are all
human. No matter outward appearance.
The soul is always striving to reveal itself. My hope is other people
view my art as a vehicle for
emotions to roam freely. The vulnerability of the person in the
artwork allows us to be vulnerable.
I am aware that others vulnerability is a teacher. I respect it, I cherish
it and I admire it.
What do you see and feel when you view the artwork?
